The village of Kilkhampton is situated approximately 5 miles from the seaside town of Bude. It is three miles (5 minutes drive) from the beautiful Sandymouth Beach (with a National Trust cafe) and a further 5 minutes from the Duckpool Beach.
Kilkhampton is home to two pubs, two village shops, a post office, pizza restaurant (and takeaway), fish & chip shop and Chinese takeaway. There is also a gym and a few specialist shops such as a wooden toy shop and a furniture shop.
There are many footpaths to follow around Kilkhampton to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Bude has a surprisingly diverse town centre. Whilst you won’t find the High Street big names, Bude still has plenty to offer.
There are traditional seaside style shops selling buckets and spades and souvenirs; but we also have numerous art galleries, clothing boutiques, surf stores, New Age mystical shops, jewellers, delicatessen and convenience stores, newsagents, booksellers and even a department store. There are several post offices, banks, estate agents, law firms and petrol stations too. The town centre has a Sainsbury’s and a Co-Op, and Morrisons is just a few minutes away. There are also numerous restaurants and take-aways including traditional British pubs, Indian, Chinese etc.
Bude is known to have great surfing and watersports, but there are also many more activities available such as walking, cycling, horse-riding, rock-climbing, abseiling, carting, fishing, golfing, pitch and putting, mountain boarding, ten-pin bowling, field archery and paintball.
